Spotify to launch audio advertising marketplace

Spotify is apparently planning to launch an audio ad marketplace that would allow advertisers to connect with the app’s users. Mobile games downloads in January down just slightly from December

The top 10 most downloaded mobile games generated some 233 million downloads from the App Store and Google Play in January 2021, down from 240 million in December 2020. Podcast app Podimo raises €11.2 million in latest round

Podimo, the subscription audio app that features stories and podcasts, just raised €11.2 million in funding. The round was led by Chr. Augustinus investment fund and had participation from existing investors. Podimo was launched in 2019. The app provides personalised recommendations for listeners. TikTok has received a row of complaints from the European Union in regards to its failure to protect children from ads and harmful content, unfair terms and misleading data processing declarations. In-app revenues from subscriptions up 34% in 2020

Last year, mobile phone users spent $111 billion on in-app purchases on par with levels in 2019. Non-gaming subscription apps grew their share of revenues to 11.7% or $13 billion in 2020.
