Windows 10 still runs on 16.9% of the Windows devices monitored by asset-tracking service Lansweeper. That's more than one in six, The Register points out.
A year ago, the operating system accounted for about half of the machines in its dataset, falling to the low-to-mid 40% range by the time Microsoft ended standard support. Read more ›

Read more ›

Whereas some people fall asleep to white noise or calm soundscapes, others can apparently do so while in the middle of noisy online matches. At least, that's what one app developer who was nostalgic for the olden Call of Duty days seems to think, as they have shaken the ASMR scene up with a lobby voice chat 'ambience' website. On Saturday, American opposition to data centres stopped being a scatter of zoning-board arguments and started behaving like a movement. More than 140 rallies across 42 states unfolded under a single banner, in what organisers billed as the first national day of action against the industry pouring the concrete for artificial intelligence. The rallies were coordinated […] This story continues at The Next Web Read more ›

BrianFagioli writes: Cloudflare has launched Precursor, a new behavioral bot detection system that monitors mouse movement, typing cadence, scrolling, clipboard activity, page visibility, and other signals across an entire browsing session. The system is designed to catch advanced bots that can run JavaScript, use real browsers, and pass traditional CAPTCHA challenges. Cloudflare says Precursor does not record actual keystrokes and instead studies timing and rhythm. The company also says the... Read more ›
