Superconducting Thruster Harnesses Earth's Magnetic Field In First Orbital Test

New Zealand startup Zenno Astronautics has completed the first orbital test of its "Supertorquer," a shoebox-sized superconducting magnet system that uses solar power and Earth's magnetic field to help control a satellite without fuel. The company says the technology could eventually support fuel-free satellite maneuvers, docking, deep-space trajectory changes, and even magnetic radiation shielding for astronauts.

Read more

The retreat from mobile games continues as Mario Kart Tour and Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis will be taken offline later this year

There seems to be a retreat from mobile adaptations of big gaming brands underway.

Why AI provider dependency is becoming Europe’s next startup risk (Sponsored)

A single provider decision can now shape the future of an AI startup. For many European founders, that sounds dramatic until the product is already in customers’ hands. Leather is not an innocent byproduct of the meat industry

The climate case against beef is now almost boringly well-established: It is, by far, the most carbon-intensive food in the world, amounting to about 6 percent of all global greenhouse gas emissions.

Read more
