GameShare just took me from interested in Switch 2's beautiful co-op space opera Orbitals, to overwhelmingly excited

Right, any game that looks like you let the artisans from Studio Ghibli or Cowboy Bebop makers Sunrise make a Daft Punk video is immediately going to pique my curiosity. Layer on some puzzle-heavy, playful-looking co-op gameplay, and you've got my attention. Tell me I can play it with my partner, across two Switches, for the entry price of just the one game, and I'm sold. Day one with bells on. Read more

When your average daily token usage is 8 billion a day, you have a massive scale problem. This was the case at AT&T, and chief data officer Andy Markus and his team recognized that it simply wasn’t feasible (or economical) to push everything through large reasoning models. So, when building out an internal Ask AT&T personal assistant, they reconstructed the orchestration layer. The result: A multi-agent stack built on LangChain... Read more

The false promise of a “no sugar” diet

When I picked up my kids’ birthday cake this week, I felt a tinge of guilt that I’m sure many people will find familiar. Isn’t this thing loaded with sugar?  The health and wellness space is filled with people pushing zero/no sugar diets, sometimes as a short-term detox, sometimes as a long-term way of life. Meta’s Internal Chip Design Efforts Hit Roadblocks

As Meta Platforms strikes new chip supply deals with AMD and Nvidia, it has been running into problems with AI chips it is designing internally, according to six people with direct knowledge of the matter. DRAM Shortage Will Cause 'Seismic Shift' in Smartphone Market, But Apple Will Be Less Affected

Global memory scarcity will cause a 13 percent drop in smartphone sales in 2026, according to IDC (via Bloomberg). DRAM is in short supply because AI companies are buying huge quantities of high-bandwidth memory (HBM) for servers in data centers, and manufacturers are prioritizing HBM instead of the memory used in consumer devices. IDC says that the global memory supply has been drained into next year, putting smartphone makers in... Read more

Nintendo's Virtual Boy for Switch is a wonderful way to experience a buried relic, but I'm not keen on its need for both a subscription and a purchase

It feels weird to buy a peripheral in order to play games you don't own. I'm generally very positive about the Nintendo Classics offered through the Nintendo Switch Online membership (and the classic Mega Drive games). I know I'll lose access if I stop subscribing, but it feels like a reasonable fee to get these on top of other benefits. But, just like I have never bought DLC for a... Read more

Whatever happened to boxing games? Fight Night Round 3 wore my thumbs out, and 20 years on I still love it for it

I miss boxing - not that I ever did it. It used to be a kind of combat-sport backbone running through the country. Their cheers led ours. Boxing matches were big deals,... Read more
