For the first time ever, this year Apple was the world's No.1 smartphone maker in terms of shipments in the first quarter (January to March). This is according to a new report by Counterpoint Research (CR). The company was helped by its launch of the iPhone 16e, and while its sales in the US, Europe, and China were either flat or declining, it recorded a whopping double-digit growth in Japan, India, the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia.
