Poco F7 Ultra in for review

Say hello to the Poco F7 Ultra, the first Ultra phone from the brand. While its official launch is still a few days away, our review unit made its way to the office, and these are our first impressions.

Our F7 Ultra unit comes in the bold Poco yellow color. There’s a quad-curved glass back which helps with ergonomics so it doesn’t dig into your palm like some other sharper phones do. Our scales measured the F7 Ultra at just over 210 grams, which is in line with last year’s Poco F6 Pro.

Somewhere a grandchild is living through the ordinary afternoon they’ll describe, sixty years from now, as the moment they felt most safe — and no adult in the room has any idea it’s happening

Picture a kitchen in the late afternoon. There is the smell of something slow on the stove, onions maybe, or bread. Light comes in low and golden across a worn wooden table. A small child sits on the floor with a pile of pots, banging out a song only she can hear, while a grandmother ... Read more Read more

Nvidia Says It Will Take a Cut of Some Customers’ Cloud Revenues

Nvidia is using its powerful balance sheet to help more companies buy its expensive AI chips, and possibly make some money back too. It’s promising to financially backstop young cloud providers that rent out its graphics processing units in exchange for a share of their revenues. The backstop would come in the form of promising to rent back unused GPUs if the companies can’t find AI developers to rent them,... Read more

US Home Battery Installations Hit Record High On Rising Electricity Costs

An anonymous reader quotes a report from Ars Technica: US homeowners have embraced home batteries in record-breaking numbers in early 2026, spurred on by state incentives while seeking to offset rising residential electricity costs. The trend could even unlock a more flexible energy supply for power grid operators and even AI data centers. New home battery installations reached a record 673 megawatts of energy storage in the first quarter of... Read more

Read more

OnePlus' slow transformation from independent brand to an Oppo sub-brand continues unabated. The latest example comes from Germany, where the official OnePlus website is now advertising Oppo products. Samsung partners with a clinical research firm and will provide health data from its wearable devices

Samsung and Alcedis are forming a partnership to bridge together health data from wearable devices and clinical research. Of course, Samsung will provide the health data. At the same time, Alcedis, as a digital-first clinical research organization, will collect, analyze and translate biometrics data into meaningful evidence that can later be used for pharmaceutical or other clinical research. It does make sense, to some extent, since wearable devices are widespread... Read more

Oppo Reno16 and 16 Pro arrive globally with specs changes

Exactly one month after they were announced in China, Oppo’s Reno16 and Reno16 Pro are now making their way to the global markets, but not without some changes. The major one is the choice of chipsets, where the global Reno16 Pro is bumped down to a MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super, compared to the Chinese version’s Dimensity 9500s. The vanilla Reno16 gets a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 under the hood. The... Read more

Say hi to the Galaxy A27 5G. It's very much a modest update over the Galaxy A26 that mainly focuses on the design with a slight performance boost on the inside. It's time for the international release of Oppo's Reno16 series, and we've got the Reno16 Pro for unboxing. Oppo unveils its first semi-in-ear buds, the Enco Air5s, and the more traditional Enco Air5

Oppo is launching the Enco Air5s, its first “semi-in-ear” buds. This means that the in-ear part of them is plastic without a rubber ear tip. This design makes for more comfortable wearing experience (and it helps that the buds are lighter too), but it doesn’t seal the ear canal fully. If you prefer the more traditional design, there is the new Oppo Enco Air5 (no “s”). The Air5s are some... Read more
