Why are localisation workers regularly left out of game credits?

This month's launch of the widely-celebrated Baldur's Gate 3 highlighted the often-overlooked topic of video game credits, and the fact that many people who work for hundreds of hours on a project sometimes still do not get their name recognised. But why does this happen? And what is being done - across developers, publishers, localisation companies and industry bodies - to ensure the situation improves? I've spoken to staff past... The Texas Chain Saw Massacre review - asymmetric horror where servers are the biggest enemy

There are a lot of things you can do in eight minutes. Make a brew. Reply to a couple of emails. Pop to the loo. Eight minutes is a surprisingly long time, actually, and I know this because I've lost loads of eight-minute segments over the last couple of weeks as I sat in front of my PC, trying to play The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. I feel a little... Read more ›

Dave The Diver has received a huge update, including new accessibility options and quality of life improvements. Hitman World of Assassination update fixes death wall by, quite literally, boxing it in

IO Interactive has released a new update for Hitman: The World of Assassination. This update covers a large variety of issues, including that surprising "death wall" bug found on Hitman 2's Isle of Sgail. This bug saw poor, unexpecting NPCs dying instantly when they came into contact with a specific wall within the isolated North Atlantic castle. Which wall? Well, ironically one in the morgue. IO clearly didn't want anything... Read more ›

Let's! Revolution! is a prog rock Minesweeper roguelike

Let's! Revolution! is another of those games that takes Minesweeper and turns it into something a little more elaborate. When I play, I'm pursuing an evil king across a range of different levels, growing more powerful as I go and firing off spells, but also taking damage, making mistakes, and trying to avoid mistakes I can see coming. It's brilliant, and it's actually pretty easy to get one's head around.... Read more ›
