Bō: Path of the Teal Lotus' demo reminded me of the sanctity of tea

Where there is tea, there is hope. I have always appreciated this sentiment. Often when things are feeling overwhelming and I can’t quite get my thoughts in line, I will put the kettle on. It's a simple ritual, but there is something incredibly soothing about the whole process. The selection of which leaf - something that changes depending on the time of day - and finding the perfect mug to... Read more

Dawntrail is Final Fantasy 14 at its most colourful

It's about time the Scions of the Seventh Dawn had a holiday, right? After the adventures of A Realm Reborn and its four expansions - the latest of which took them to the moon and beyond - the heroes of Final Fantasy 14 deserve some sun. And so they land in Tural, with its crystal waters, sandy beaches, lush jungles, and low poly tacos. Between its vibrant setting, its graphical... Read more

The double-act of Raw Fury and Kingdom shines like a lighthouse across an industry floundering at sea

I still remember it well: I was at EGX 2015 in Birmingham, and one game turned my head like a doorknob. It wasn't one of the blockbusters, or one of the games with a showy booth, but a much smaller game on a couple of screens, nestled among many others. On that screen was what looked to me like a pixel art fairytale. A person with a crown sat on... Read more

Looks like Sony's live-service sci-fi shooter Concord will launch with a £35 price tag

It looks like Sony's recently revealed 5v5 sci-fi shooter Concord will take a leaf out of Helldivers 2's wildly successful live-service playbook and launch with a relatively modest price tag of £35. Concord, the debut game from Sony's FireWalk Studios, was announced with only minimal detail last May. More was revealed during last week's PlayStation State of Play, however, when Concord was confirmed to be a 5v5 first-person shooter -... Read more

F1 24 is slick and polished on all platforms - but feels like more of the same

Having a new F1 game release annually creates a real challenge to innovate - to truly rework its visuals and features - and so with F1 24 we have a more iterative entry this time around. With that being said, there are key upgrades. In particular F1 24 brings entirely reworked tracks, with fan favourites like Silverstone and Circuit de Spa - and more - getting major overhauls compared to... Read more

Skydance's Behemoth could be the colossus Playstation VR2 needs right now

Forget Elden Ring DLC, the only thing I'm excited about this week is my hands-on with the PlayStation VR2 version of Skydance's Behemoth. OK, that's a lie, I am still excited about Shadow of the Erdtree, but playing Behemoth on PSVR2 was the first time that I'd felt truly thrilled by an experience on Sony's headset in what feels like an age. While Behemoth is also set to land on... Read more

Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree's map will have same "sense of wonder and exploration" as base game

FromSoftware's Hidetaka Miyazaki has discussed the size of Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree and the desire for players to experience the same sense of discovery as that of the base game. Previously, Miyazaki described Shadow of the Erdtree to Eurogamer as the studio's "largest expansion" ever: "In terms of pure surface area, you could think of something larger even than Limgrave in the base game," he said. Destiny developer "truly sorry" as The Final Shape launch issues see players missing crucial story cutscenes

Destiny 2's climactic expansion The Final Shape is now available, bringing to a close 10 years of storytelling - but launch issues have meant many players missed key narrative moments. A string of issues plagued last night's The Final Shape launch, which Bungie has now apologised for. Hades 2's second patch is here, bringing plenty of Daedalus Hammer changes with it

A month after its early access launch, Supergiant Games has released a second patch for Hades 2.As with its first patch, this update does not add any new content to the game, with its focus remaining on things such as bug fixes, general gameplay fixes (many of which were inspired by community feedback) and numerous tweaks to Daedalus Hammer upgrades. For example, Marauder Wallop has been removed from the game... Read more

Oddada is the best kind of video game toybox as you get to keep downloadable WAVs of all the tunes you make

I have something of a love-hate relationship with games that are also toys. I'm talking about games like Townscaper, The Ramp, Summerhouse and even Tiny Glade - the games that are essentially one endless creative mode where your goal is to simply 'make stuff' to your heart's content. I love what they're about, and I will admire and coo over all the lovely GIFs and clips that folks with far... Read more

There's definitely still room for The Rogue Prince of Persia

I love the way this prince runs. I think I could watch it forever. Head thrust forward, whole body pointed forward, hands in fists reaching and punching the air, punching what's coming. He's angled low, like a velociraptor, but he's as sleek and as streamlined as the red sash that billows heroically behind him. Something of a modern sports star in the leggings, with a stripe down the outside of... Read more
