Grunn is definitely not terrifying so don’t worry at all

Grunn is a normal gardening game set in a mundane village, according to the Steam blurb. It is not at all weird and horrifying, not remotely a glimpse into the abyss. Moments after first arriving off the bus you won't find yourself trapped in the garden by a bridge with a rotten plank. You won't accidentally murder a magpie while chopping down tall grass. And you thoroughly won't be stalked... Read more ›

Speaking to the creator of one of last year's best and most difficult games, The Banished Vault

The Banished Vault was one of last year's best, and possibly most difficult, games. It cast you as one of the last Exiles in space - a kind of monk - and tasked you with outrunning a universe-swallowing darkness known as the Gloom. But underneath, it was a game about maths. A game about careful space flight and fuel economy, and about planning many steps in advance to execute a... Read more ›

Lego Horizon Adventures is a perfect match - a breezy, light-hearted approach the series has perhaps always needed

While chatting with Guerilla's narrative director James Windeler shortly after my time with Lego Horizon Adventures, I was reminded that Horizon Zero Dawn's signature robo-dino creatures have already had ties to Lego for some time. "The story goes that we prototyped the first machines in Horizon Zero Dawn from Duplo," he said, "so it's always been a part of the studio."The reality of course is that the relationship between Horizon...
