The Washington Post interviewed Lebanese officials, people close to Hezbollah, and Israeli, Arab and U.S. security officials and politicians about a years-long plan (originated at Mossad headquarters) that ultimately killed or maimed "as many as 3,000 Hezbollah officers and members — most of them rear-echelon figures... along with an unknown number of civilians... when Israel's Mossad intelligence service triggered the devices remotely on September 17." Does the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE need to exist? It all comes down to price – a 256GB unit will cost you $710 in the US with no promotions and discounts, a Galaxy S24+ 256GB is $1,000. The S24+ is certainly the better phone, but whether it is $290 better remains to be seen. And you shouldn’t be paying full price for these phones, anyway. Samsung US is accepting pre-orders... OnePlus (and its parent Oppo) were embroiled in a very protracted patent dispute with Nokia in the past, which at one point saw OnePlus and Oppo devices banned from sale in Germany (and this only ended a few months ago), and now unfortunately history repeats itself. Though this time the problem isn't with Nokia, it's also a patent dispute, with InterDigital, over key patents for 5G and other mobile technologies.... Read more ›

At the beginning of the month, Infinix announced the 5G-enabled Hot 50. Now, the company is bringing a more affordable 4G variant that has the same design, but differs in a few key specs. The Infinix Hot 50 4G is powered by the Helio G100, which replaces the Dimensity 6300. This limits connectivity to a 4G modem, but performance should be quite similar as both chips are fabbed on a... Something big may be happening in the flagship Galaxy S line, but not next year. The Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra are all coming in January, as usual. But in 2026, the Korean company could bring a major change to its lineup, by giving up on the Galaxy S26. Samsung has already done something similar to its flagship tablet line. This year, only the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy... Read more ›

Chipset prices are getting out of control and companies are looking for some cheaper alternatives. The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is an interesting case – Samsung chose an in-house chip, but not the same that is found in Galaxy S24 and S24+ phones in some parts of the world. Instead, it used the Exynos 2400e. Samsung is keeping most details under wraps, but it did confirm that the prime Cortex-X4... Read more ›
