Trucking startup Convoy’s revenue collapsed in the first nine months of this year, falling far short of the company’s 2022 revenue, according to two people with direct knowledge of the company’s financials. The revenue shortfall preceded an abrupt shutdown of the company’s day-to-day operations on Wednesday and sweeping layoffs it announced on Thursday.
As of early October, Convoy had taken in about $320 million in revenue, the people said, which puts the firm on pace to fall drastically short of last year

It’s tough to find decent gaming laptops under $1,000. However, Best Buy has what I consider to be a good entry-level model for 1080p gaming in Lenovo’s 15.6-inch LOQ laptop, which is selling for $649.99 (usually $959.99) through today, April 9th. Even with its Nvidia’s RTX 4050 (its lowest-tier GPU of the series), the laptop […] Read more ›

Divisive yet successful open-world fantasy game Crimson Desert notably does not come with a character creator. The game casts you as male hero Kliff and that's mostly who you are, besides some shorter stints as the characters Damiane and Oongka. You can change Kliff's hair and beard and tattoos later in the game, but you can't change his appearance structurally, or his gender. Until now, that is. Read more Read more ›

The Acer Predator Helios 18 AI is down to $2,539.99, a $560 saving off its $3,099.99 comp value, and it represents the kind of spec sheet that leaves very little on the table. An RTX 5080 with GDDR7, a 24-core Intel Core Ultra 9, and a 250Hz Mini-LED panel at 1000 nits add up to […] Read more ›

In recent weeks, Fidji Simo has burst into public view as the OpenAI executive bringing much-needed discipline to the AI startup, as it inches toward an initial public offering late this year. Last month, Simo—who is now CEO of AGI Deployment—delivered the sobering message to the company’s staff that OpenAI can no longer chase “side quests” that distract it from its priorities. In the wake of that, OpenAI killed Sora,... Read more ›
