VentureBeat · 06/04/2026 16:25 EDT

Anthropic co-founder and CEO Dario Amodei said it was coming, but it still feels like a milestone: More than 80% of the code merged into Anthropic’s production codebase in May wasn't authored by humans, but by its own AI model, Claude, according to a new report shared by the record-breaking AI startup today. This transformation has triggered an 8x increase in the volume of code shipped per engineer per quarter compared to the company’s 2021–2025 baseline, which the company notes means even more code someone.

People who keep their phone face down during a conversation aren’t simply being polite—they’re making a visible decision that the person present outranks everyone who might appear on the screen

There is a small movement people make at the beginning of a serious conversation. The phone comes out of a pocket, lands on the table, and is turned face down. The screen disappears. Whatever arrives next will not be allowed to flash between two people. It is easy to call this good manners and leave ... Read more Read more

Sara Blakely spent seven years selling fax machines door-to-door for an office-supply company — being turned away and having her business card ripped up at least once a week — before starting Spanx with $5,000 of her own savings in 2000, writing her own patent, keeping the company entirely self-funded for 21 years, and eventually selling a majority stake to Blackstone in 2021 at a valuation of about $1.2 billion

Sara Blakely built a billion-dollar company on $5,000 of her own money and never took a cent from outside investors. In 2000 she used that $5,000 to launch Spanx. Twenty-one years later, in October 2021, the investment firm Blackstone bought a majority stake in Spanx in a deal that valued the company at about $1.2 ... Read more Read more

Why the EU-UK AI divergence founders fear isn’t real

Anyone who has ambitions to build a business across Europe will have considered the tax of doing it through 27 separate national systems.

Read more

Presented by Oracle NetSuiteEvery major technology transition produces a set of assumptions about where the market is headed. The assumptions are often directionally correct, but they tend to underestimate the degree to which organizations adapt new technologies to their own circumstances. AI is following a similar trajectory. Many current discussions about enterprise AI assume a future in which employees interact with business systems through a common interface. The details vary depending... Read more

Presented by SAPGenerating code with AI is fast, but getting that code to run reliably inside a large enterprise, integrated with live systems, governed for compliance, and maintainable over years requires foundational work that most organizations underestimate. While 81% of all organizations have a detailed strategy, only 12–16% reach AI‑driven execution, says SAP's Michael Ameling, CPO of SAP Business Technology Platform, and the reasons rarely come down to the quality... A team routing queries across a coding specialist, a logic specialist, and a generalist model assumes each will cover the others' blind spots. A new study evaluating 67 frontier models from 21 providers shows that assumption is mathematically flawed — and the flaw has a name: the co-failure ceiling. The assumption works like this: as long as two models don't usually fail on the exact same prompts, combining them is supposed... Share one API key across five AI agents, and a single compromised agent inherits the reach of all five. The attacker immediately benefits from the accumulated permissions of every workflow that the key touches. The forensic trail goes cold at the credential level because five agents on one account leave no record of which agent did what.Sixty-nine percent of enterprises run agents with credential sharing somewhere in their deployments, according... The vast majority of business data is tabular — living in data warehouses, CRMs, and financial ledgers — yet building a reliable model from it still means training a new one from scratch for every dataset, then maintaining hyperparameter tuning loops, feature engineering, and retraining pipelines to fight data drift. Google Research is proposing a way around that: a new foundation model called TabFM that treats tabular prediction as an... Read more

Enterprise companies are running AI agents ahead of the controls needed to manage them — and they deployed that way knowingly. That is the central finding from VentureBeat Research's June survey of 573 technical leaders at companies with 100 or more employees, fielded across five parallel surveys of the agentic stack. Enterprises are now retrofitting to catch up with their own standards, and they are budgeting for it: Roughly six...
