Humanoid Robot Becomes Buddhist Monk In South Korea

A four-foot humanoid robot named Gabi has become a monk at a Buddhist temple in Seoul, participating in a modified initiation ceremony where it pledged to respect life, obey humans, act peacefully toward other robots and objects. "Robots are destined to collaborate with humans in every field in the future," Hong Min-suk, a manager at the Jogye Order, the largest sect of Buddhism in South Korea, tells the New York Times. "It will only be natural for them to be part of our festival." Smithsonian Magazine repo

The progressive plan to reclaim the working class

For years, one of the bedrock adages of electoral politics was “it’s the economy, stupid.” The quip, coined by former Bill Clinton strategist James Carville, warned party leaders that economic concerns will always outrank other issues in the mind of voters But recently, Carville’s iconic advice feels like it’s been forgotten. In President Joe Biden’s […] Read more

People who say it’s fine when it isn’t fine aren’t always lying — they may be running an old calculation that says the cost of the truth is higher than the cost of carrying it alone

When someone says it's fine and it clearly isn't, they're not lying. They're running an old cost-benefit calculation about honesty that was accurate in a different relationship, in a different decade, and has never been updated. Read more

AAA,... Read more

Read more

Telegram Bot API 10.0:

The $19B "Nuclear AI" Energy Startup That Couldn't Sign a Single Client
