Atlassian and HubSpot Join Shift From AI Flat Fees

Dozens of enterprise software firms have shifted away from charging customers flat, per-user subscription fees as AI threatens their seat-based pricing model.

By the end of 2025, 79 of the 500 software companies tracked by former OpenView partner Kyle Poyar, including HubSpot, Adobe and Salesforce, had begun charging customers additional fees based on how much AI they’re using. That’s more than double the figure in 2024.

Google Will Pay SpaceX $920 Million Per Month For Compute

Ahead of its upcoming IPO, SpaceX announced that Google will pay the company $920 million per month for access to roughly 110,000 Nvidia GPUs and related compute infrastructure. Google says the agreement is short-term "bridge capacity" to meet stronger-than-expected demand for Gemini Enterprise, while SpaceX is using deals like this and its Anthropic contract to bolster its pitch for a historic public offering. Control Resonant is how video games should be done

There are, after a good few hours playing it, quite a few games like Control Resonant. It's an RPG with a kind of pseudo open-world - an "open-ended modern world" I believe was Remedy's way of putting it in its presentation to the press earlier this week - and it has skill trees and some light resource-gathering and item-upgrading. It has some light platforming with a double-jump and a dash,... Read more

Control Resonant is a sequel — and also a starting point

Chronologically, Control Resonant is a sequel to 2019's Control. But in most other ways, the games aren't directly connected. To developer Remedy, they're more like two sides of the same coin. When Resonant was first revealed last year, creative director Mikael Kasurinen said you can play the games in any order. The world of Control […] Read more

Read more

Over a decade later, here's our best look yet at Alien: Isolation 2 as one of the greatest horror games ever prepares to return

On Alien: Isolation's 10th anniversary a couple of years ago, director Al Hope shared some exciting news: a very long-awaited sequel was finally in development. Beyond that, we learned very little else. Earlier this year, though, we got our first little teaser trailer, and today, during Summer Game Fest's big showcase, though, and we've had our first proper look at Alien: Isolation 2. By now, you’ve probably seen the unbelievable video of Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket exploding on its launchpad in Florida on Thursday night. On its face, Blue Origin’s pain would seem to be Elon Musk’s gain, further cementing SpaceX’s already significant lead in the space business just weeks before it goes public. While the explosion is obviously terrible news for Jeff Bezos’ space ambitions, Musk and his SpaceX colleagues have... Read more

Before former Slack CEO Denise Dresser joined OpenAI in December as its chief revenue officer, the company’s efforts to sell its products to business customers were sometimes clunky. Earlier in 2025, for example, the company had struck an agreement with Databricks, which would sell OpenAI products alongside the database software provider’s own products. But some potential customers were confused about which salespeople to reach, remembers Andy Kofoid, president of global... Read more

Why Forward Deployed Engineers Are the Rage

AI researchers may have the hottest job in tech, but forward-deployed engineers who put the AI to good use are becoming indispensable too. Two months after Microsoft’s conscious uncoupling from OpenAI, Microsoft wants to prove it’s thriving as an AI provider that doesn’t have to rely on the ChatGPT maker’s technology. Microsoft’s annual Build conference for roughly 2,500 app developers, which kicks off Tuesday in San Francisco, will be a “debutante ball” of sorts for its team developing AI models that aim to be an alternative to those from OpenAI and Anthropic.
