VentureBeat
VentureBeat · 03/31/2026 14:00 EDT

Slack today announced more than 30 new capabilities for Slackbot, its AI-powered personal agent, in what amounts to the most sweeping overhaul of the workplace messaging platform since Salesforce acquired it for $27.7 billion in 2021. The update transforms Slackbot from a simple conversational assistant into a full-spectrum enterprise agent that can take meeting notes across any video provider, operate outside the Slack application on users' desktops, execute tasks through third-party tools via the Model Co

Read more

I have 3 sons, so I'm the only woman in the house. I decluttered my attic to turn it into my peaceful, feminine sanctuary.

Read more

I went looking for the AI weed vape that gives you Bitcoin for smoking

The crypto weed vape found me on 4/20, the high holiday of cannabis enthusiasts everywhere. It arrived over Slack with the thumbnail of a man exhaling a plume of vapor, the words "every hit delivers Bitcoin" emblazoned across it. It claimed to be advertising a device called Gudtrip, and I thought everything about it sounded […] Read more

There is a category of production incident that engineering teams are not tracking yet — because it doesn't fit any existing postmortem template. The agent initiated an action. The action was technically correct given the agent's context. The context was incomplete. The infrastructure cascaded. And, by the time the incident review happened, three teams were arguing about whether it was an agent failure or an infrastructure failure,  because the frameworks... Read more

Over the past two decades, technical debt meant outdated architecture, messy code, and poorly maintained documentation. That definition is no longer sufficient in the AI era, where failure modes are more subtle and often non-linear. AI systems are introducing new layers of technical debt that live across prompts, models, and data dependencies — making these layers less visible, harder to measure, and often more dangerous than traditional debt.A crisis hiding... They called an IT support line, convinced an employee to reset their MFA, and registered their own device on the network.CrowdStrike’s 2026 Financial Services Threat Landscape Report, released this month and covering activity from April 2025 through March 2026, identified Mutant Spider as the single most active threat to the financial services... For months, the leading AI coding benchmarks have told enterprise buyers a comforting but misleading story: the top models are all roughly the same. OpenAI's GPT-5 family, Anthropic's Claude Opus, and Google's Gemini Pro have clustered within a narrow band on Scale AI's SWE-Bench Pro leaderboard, making it nearly impossible for engineering leaders to determine which agent will actually perform best inside their codebases. On Monday, a startup called Datacurve released... The data processing agreement (DPA) — the bedrock contract companies use to evaluate how vendors handle personal data — can no longer be trusted at face value. That is the central, and arguably most alarming, conclusion of DataGrail's Privacy and AI Trends Report 2026, released today. The San Francisco-based privacy platform analyzed 2,400 popular business software providers and found that 63.6% of vendors that prominently advertise AI capabilities do not disclose... Presented by EquinixDigital systems are central to economic resilience. But the governance models supporting them were designed for a bygone era, when systems were smaller, often centralized, and rarely crossing multiple jurisdictions. When Miro’s data team pointed AI agents directly at its Snowflake environment, the agents got the wrong answer more than 65% of the time. The problem wasn’t the model — it was context.
