Engadget has reached out to ByteDance for comment and will update this story if we hear back with more in

Read more ›

Read more ›

Read more ›

Plug-in (or "balcony") solar panels can also be hung out a window or be set up in a backyard, reports NPR. They channel energy from the sun straight into a home's electrical outlet, generating enough electricity to power a refrigerator or microwave while "displacing electricity that otherwise would come in from the grid..." But what's holding up their adoption in America? For the panels to become more widely available in... Read more ›

As houses and apartments get more energy efficient, they also get more airtight, limiting air exchange with the outside world. That’s partly why indoor air is often far more polluted than outdoor air. Synthetic building materials, cleaning products, pet dander, cooking emissions and smoke all conspire to muck up what we breathe in. In our tests, the best way to get the green light from our air quality monitors was... Read more ›

By introducing the iPhone 17e just a year after the iPhone 16e, Apple is closing some gaps. But Apple is getting into an annual groove now, and having renamed the device to integrate... Read more ›

Perhaps one of the most surprising things about the Apple Silicon era is how quickly Apple now updates its products. Take the iPad Air, for example. That’s the same chip that was inside the iPad Pro that was... Read more ›
