Apple's Low-Cost iPhone 17e is Faster Than the Low-Cost MacBook Neo

Apple is set to launch two new low-cost devices tomorrow, the iPhone 17e and the MacBook Neo. Both devices use A-series chips, which have historically been limited to the iPhone and iPad.

The ‌MacBook Neo‌ has Apple's A18 Pro chip inside, which was first used in the iPhone 16 Pro models, while the ‌iPhone 17e‌ has a newer A19 chip. Unsurprisingly, thanks to the newer chip, Apple's $599 ‌iPhone‌ outperforms the CPU in its $599 Mac.

The ‌iPhone 17e‌ earned a multi-core score of 9,241 on early Geekbenc

The people who keep their home impossibly clean aren’t necessarily organized. Some of them grew up in chaos and the only variable they could control was their physical space, and they’ve never stopped trying to create order in the one domain that actually responds to effort.

Compulsive tidiness is one of the most misread behaviours in adult life. For many, the drive to keep an impossibly clean home started as the only form of agency available to a child living in chaos, and the pattern never stopped running. Read more

People who go quiet when they’re angry aren’t giving you the silent treatment. They learned somewhere early that their anger wasn’t safe to express at full volume, so they built a system where silence is the only container strong enough to hold it without consequences.

Americans are using AI more than ever, but only 21% trust it — and 70% now fear it will eliminate jobs

A poll from Quinnipiac University reveals a widening paradox at the heart of America’s relationship with artificial intelligence: adoption is climbing, but trust is cratering. As reports indicate, a growing number of Americans have used AI tools, yet only a minority trust AI-generated information most or almost all of the time. Photo by Zain Ali ... Read more Read more

I used to be unhappy and I blamed everything around me – until I realized I’d built an entire life around avoiding the one conversation I needed to have with myself

For a long stretch of my late twenties, I had a list. Not written down anywhere, but maintained with some care in the back of my mind.
