Musical adventure game Mixtape will be ready to rock out on May 7

Time to dust off your boomboxes and your walkmans: musical coming-of-age game Mixtape is due out this spring. RAI’s amazing Roadrunner robot leaves humanoids behind

When the Robotics and AI (RAI) Institute talks technology, it’s wise to take notice. The company was, after all, founded by Marc Raibert, who also launched robotics pioneer Boston Dynamics, the firm behind the astonishing Atlas robot and the dog-like Spot quadruped. Massachusetts-based RAI Institute has just unveiled Roadrunner, a 15 kg (33 lb) bipedal-wheeled robot prototype. […] Read more

Researchers have developed a teeth-whitening powder that works with the vibrations of an electric toothbrush to safely remove stains. Unlike traditional whiteners, it not only brightens teeth but also repairs enamel and supports healthy oral bacteria. Lab tests showed dramatic whitening effects, while animal studies revealed reduced harmful microbes and inflammation. This could pave the way for a new generation of at-home dental care. Read more

Read more

Boox's new Go E Ink tablet includes a 10-inch display and runs Android 15

There are many E Ink tablets out there, but most of them are basically digital notebooks. Boox, however, has released a number of E Ink tablets that can access the Google Play Store, opening up users to the wide world of traditional smartphone apps. The... Read more

How to make your smartphone last longer

Replacing a smartphone every two years is partially why billions of phones go into landfills each year. If stacked flat atop one another, that many handsets would reach farther than the ISS. But we’ve become accustomed to that 24-month time frame because wireless carriers often push an upgrade on biennial contracts, and many smaller phone makers only offer software support for two years. But now, with longer software commitments from... Read more
