Thousands of people — from India to US and Canada — reported that YouTube, the popular video site, went dark on Tuesday (February 17). The company later explained that ‘an issue with our recommendations system’ caused the outage, and that the ‘homepage is back’

The issue seems to have started at around 8 PM Eastern time and reached 338,000 reports on Downdetector before starting to taper down.
