Hello! Welcome back to our regular feature where we write a little bit about some of the games we've been playing over the past few days. Concord feels like a load of brilliant games combined - but is that enough?

Everything else aside, Concord definitely throws up an interesting question. Does doing every distinct, individual part of a game as well as it can be done lead to a good game in itself? We're a step away from "what makes a good game?" here, a mountain-sized can of worms. A worm volcano. Not going near that one - but Concord does make me wonder.A 5v5 hero shooter that is online... With the death of Keystone, will Xbox give up its streaming console plans forever?

This week on the Eurogamer Newscast, we discuss the cancelled Xbox project Keystone: Microsoft's plans to launch a relatively cheap streaming console. Keystone popped up yesterday in an old patent which detailed the prospective hardware in fresh detail, though we have of course seen it in the wild before - on Xbox boss Phil Spencer's shelf. Spencer has addressed Keystone's cancellation, and blamed it being shelved (literally) on Microsoft not... Read more ›

Donkey Kong could have been called Kong Dong, Nintendo court documents state

Nintendo court documents state that Donkey Kong once had a heap of other proposed names - including, unfortunately, "Kong Dong". Said documents were originally scanned and placed online by gaming historian Norman Caruso in 2020, and were recently... Read more ›

Dragon Age: The Veilguard story progression is about enticing factions, not gathering resources

One of the most common bugbears about Dragon Age: Inquisition was the need to go find Shards - collectibles scattered across its various open-world zones you could then trade in for War Table influence. It's safe to say these aren't returning for BioWare's upcoming sequel. Instead, Dragon Age: The Veilguard will focus its story progression around the world's various factions, and your success at coaxing each to your side. "The... Read more ›

Luigi's Mansion has always offered Mario's world in domestic close-up

Anybody there? At these moments, ghosts are the rocking chair that may have just moved, the painting or moose head whose eyes have flickered... Read more ›
