Capcom's games continue to sell exceptionally well

Capcom continues to perform exceptionally well, with sales from across the business up 74 percent in the first quarter of this business year. That's according to its latest financial report, which states game sales specifically grew from 11.7m units to 13.5m units year on year. Much of that is down to the success of Street Fighter 6, released last month, which has so far amassed almost 2m sales. Read more Read more ›

Season 10 of Sea of Thieves has been delayed, and will now launch on 19th October. "It's not a decision we've taken lightly, and we share your disappointment that it's something we've needed to do," Sea of Thieves' head of community Christina McGrath wrote in a blog update earlier today. "However, after careful consideration, we firmly believe that it's the best thing to do for the quality of the release,... Read more ›

A Great Mighty Poo figurine from Conker's Bad Fur Day is about to drop

One of the greatest boss fights in history is about to be immortalised as a figurine: the Great Mighty Poo from Conker's Bad Fur Day. Brewed up by First 4 Figures, the figurine consists of the giant operatic turd mid song opposite a mini Conker throwing toilet roll into its mouth. If you're not familiar with the vocal work of the Great Mighty Poo, the boss is arguably Rare's Magnum... Read more ›

Immortals Fenyx Rising not so immortal, as Ubisoft reportedly cancels sequel

Ubisoft has reportedly cancelled its plans to release an Immortals Fenyx Rising sequel. Word of a follow up to 2020's mythological romp first surfaced last year, when it was reported a game was in the pre-production stages, with Ubisoft hiring for the title. Subsequent reports then suggested this game would not, in fact, be a fully fledged sequel, but rather a spin-off with a Hawaiian Polynesian theme. Now it seems... Read more ›

Why do I let video games send me back to school?

If you're anything like me, the idea of going back to school fills you with dread. I still have nightmares about exams for which I'm unprepared and I still lay awake at night remembering embarrassing things I did when I was fifteen. Yet, show me a game that offers to send me right back there and I'll show you a game into which I'll sink a hundred hours. What is... Read more ›

Remnant 2 is a fitting showcase for Unreal Engine 5's Nanite technology

Remnant 2 offers an interesting spin on Dark Souls-style action games, combining that series' fundamental structure with a third-person shooter gameplay and a procedurally generated world. It's a formula pioneered by the first Remnant game in 2019, but the sequel is more technically interesting - as it's a current-gen-only title that takes advantage of Unreal Engine 5 features and the enhanced horsepower provided by PS5, Series X and Series S.... Armored Core 6 feels brilliant in the hands, but also strangely undecided

The original Armored Core was the game that taught me to fight in the air. Even as I struggle to remember what I had for breakfast this morning, I still have vivid memories of boosting around its squalid industrial plains and catacombs, dipping carefully into my AC's replenishing energy reserve, while combing the cathode-ray TV murk for the hiss and flash of incoming projectiles. I loved jetpack duels and accessorised... Read more ›

Blue Protocol is Amazon's next punt on East meets West

Like Lost Ark before it, Blue Protocol is another example of East meets West from Amazon Games. Developed by Bandai Namco (and already released in Japan), Amazon is now publishing the game on Western shores and adding yet another MMO to its portfolio alongside New World. It seems Amazon's intention is to dominate the MMO space, but is its strategy simply to throw stuff at the wall and see what... Read more ›
