"For anyone that got denied being a Partner from Twitch, don't feel so bad," Clancy said. "Just got my Partner application denied.... Read more ›

A "working build" of Overkill's The Walking Dead with unreleased content has leaked online

A dev build of Overkill's The Walking Dead has leaked online. The build reportedly contains unreleased content from the lacklustre zombie shooter as well as content that made the final release back in 2018.There is no way to purchase a legal copy of the game anymore as, just a year on from its 2018 release, Skybound revoked Starbreeze's The Walking Dead license and the beleaguered game was unceremoniously pulled from... Container, a board game with the most boring theme imaginable, is one of the most exciting experiences I've ever had

You'd be forgiven for thinking that Container is less an actual playable board game and more a parody of the mundane, dryly economical themes adopted by the tabletop hobby's more esoteric offerings. After all, it's a board game called Container, about shipping containers, with a drab image of a container-stacked boat on its cover. Those tightly-packed boxes leave little room for imagination. Its Jumbo Edition, released in 2018 for its tenth... Read more ›

With reports increasingly pointing to the launch of a Switch successor next year, Nintendo of America boss Doug Bowser has talked a little about the company's perspective on entering a new console generation, saying he believes its Nintendo Account system will help 'ease the transition'. While Bowser, unsurprisingly, refused to comment on reports of a Switch successor specifically, he highlighted to Inverse (in the same interview where he discussed unionisation... Read more ›

Salt and Sacrifice, the follow-up to Ska Studios' enormously enjoyable 2D Soulslike Salt and Sanctuary, is making the jump to Switch and (following a period of Epic Games Store exclusivity) Steam on 7th November. Saturnalia's acclaimed psychedelic survival horror hits Steam this November

Saturnalia, the acclaimed - and previously Epic Games Store-exclusive - survival horror from MirrorMoon EP developer Santa Ragione is coming to Steam on 8th November. Santa Ragione (which also published Lorenzo Redaelli's stellar post-pandemic horror Mediterranea Inferno earlier this year) had initially planned to get Saturnalia onto Valve's platform in time for Halloween, but has now, alas, quite made it. Still, even without a seasonally optimal release, Saturnalia remains a... Read more ›

Doug Bowser: Nintendo doesn't have unions because of "high degree of job satisfaction and engagement"

In a year that's seen significant moves toward unionisation across the games industry, Nintendo of America boss Doug Bowser has argued the reason the company doesn't have unions is because its workers have a "high degree of job satisfaction and engagement". Bowser shared his thoughts in an interview with Inverse, saying, "You only have to look at our retention numbers, which are very, very high within the industry, and our... Read more ›

Baldur's Gate 3 speedrunners are still trying to see how quickly they can have sex in the game, and today one player managed to break the two minute barrier. This brisk performance was achieved by Mae, a known speedrunner in the Baldur's Gate 3 community. Spider-Man 2 developer weighs in on game length vs price debate

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 released today, with a storyline that developer Insomniac has said will take, on average, about 15 hours to complete if you just stick to the main story missions. If players decide to delve deeper, and complete side missions and collectables, that gameplay time could be extended to around 40 hours. When it first came to light that Spider-Man 2's main story could be wrapped up in a... Read more ›

EA Sports FC 24 glitch sees the ball "incorrectly stick" to dribbler's leg

A newly-discovered glitch in EA Sports FC 24 is doing the rounds for both looking very silly and managing to break the beautiful game. The "calf dribble", as it's been dubbed by some in the FIFA community, allows dribblers with the Trickster Playstyle to attach the ball to their calf and then simply run into the opposition's net to score. As funny as it is to watch, that's definitely not how it's... This fan has added a Pokémon-style battle arena to Halo Infinite

It's Friday, and I have found another fun thing to share with you all, this time in Halo Infinite's Forge mode. Halo Infinite's Forge mode has long been used as a canvas for many video game related homages. We have seen the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time's iconic Kokiri Forest pop up here, as well as PT's terrifying corridor and Call of Duty's famous Shipment map. Blood Gulch is... Read more ›

Super Mario Bros. Wonder: an incredible game that shows perfect mastery of Switch hardware

The original Super Mario games stand amongst the most important and influential video games ever created, but after the series shifted to the third dimension, Mario's side-scrolling adventures never quite reached the same heights. Now, for the first time since 1995, at least in my opinion, the magic of 2D Mario lives again in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. This magical adventure perfectly encapsulates everything that makes Mario great - top-tier platforming... Read more ›

Assassin's Creed Mirage ending explained

Assassin's Creed Mirage might be a leaner game than the past few Assassin's Creed epics, but it still provides its own fair share of funky goings on that may not make much sense to newcomers.I loved Mirage's finale, which lifted things just as Baghdad's exploration and investigation loop started to feel a little over-familiar. But I was also left wondering how more casual players - the same ones drawn in... Read more ›

Game of the Week: The Wonderful influence of Super Mario 3

I was about halfway through Super Mario Bros. Wonder, which is our game of the week, when I realised that Mario looked particularly familiar. Mario always looks familiar of course - it's Mario! The hat, the dungarees, the moustache. But something about this Mario really reminded me of a specific Mario I'd seen before. The Mario of Super Mario Bros. 3! And this in turn made me think about the... Read more ›
