Lords of the Fallen patch increases challenge of bosses

Lords of the Fallen has received a new patch with over a hundred changes, including buffing various bosses. Players complained that some of the game's bosses were too easy - this is a challenging Soulslike after all - but now the likes of the Sanctified Huntress, Griefbound, the Sundered One, and "a boss at the bottom of a very dark place" will be more formidable. What's more, the Scarlet Shadow... Read more ›

Payday 3's much-delayed first patch is finally here on all platforms

Payday 3 has had a bit of a rough ride since its launch back in September; matchmaking issues, online-only requirements, and a hugely unpopular challenge-focused progression system immediately soured its arrival for players, and a highly anticipated first patch promising "200+" quality of life improvements has been repeatedly delayed. Finally though, the heist-shooter's 1.01 update is here. Payday 3's 1.01 update was initially planned to launch on 5th October, but... Read more ›

The Talos Principle 2 review - a thought experiment to puzzle over

The premise of The Talos Principle 2 is a springboard for a number of thought experiments. In a post-human Earth, you have a thousand robots who think, feel and act exactly like humans, without ever having met one or sharing their history. Are they doomed to repeat the same mistakes? The fear that they are is the justification behind limiting their numbers to exactly one thousand, and you play as... Read more ›

Football Manager 2024 review - technical tweaks make for outsized improvements

It's rare to notice a new Football Manager's tweaks as quickly as I did with FM24. It's March 2025, two-and-a-half seasons into my traditional Manchester United rescue job, and deep into a four-way title race between us, City, Chelsea, and Liverpool. First game of my freshly-imported save from FM23 - and so first game in FM24 - and it's City away. A potential early title decider at the Temple of... Read more ›

Silent Hill: Ascension monetisation is a time skip, not pay-to-win, developer insists

The CEO of Silent Hill: Ascension developer Genvid has defended the game's transactions, and said they were there to allow people to "skip time" in gaining in-game currency rather than being a way to "game the system". CEO Jacob Navok's comments come after the game's second night of new content, and amid backlash to its monetisation scheme. Navok posted last night on X, formerly Twitter, to respond to a wave...
