Dispatch is brilliant, which is great news for Critical Role fans

I'm excited. Dispatch is enjoying a real moment in the sun. This is the superhero workplace comedy made by a bunch of former Telltale devs that's being released in retro-cool episodic instalments each week. The series ends this week - Wednesday is the big finale - but Dispatch can already be considered a success. It's sold more than 1 million copies and amassed more than 22,000 Overwhelmingly Positive reviews on... Read more

Lumines Arise review

Confusing things, video games. I've always thought that Tetris is the ultimate game: the game we'll all still be playing when the sun explodes. And yet, at the same time, I've also thought that there are better puzzle games out there. Well, there's one better puzzle game at least. Read more Read more

You may have heard tales of the friendliness of Arc Raiders players. How in this high-stakes PvP environment people are coming together and helping each other out rather than shooting each other in the face and / or body. The reason why remains a mystery: why are Arc Raiders players so keen to lend a helping hand, and so frustrated when others decide to shoot them for their own benefit?... Read more

Ghost of Yōtei sells over 3.3m units in one month, which makes it about twice as popular as Astro Bot

If you look in some of the dustier, less pleasant corners of the internet, you'll see a contingent of people that have been actively rooting for Ghost of Yōtei's failure. Whether it's because of console-based tribalism, perceived political posturing, or something else entirely, a small but vocal portion of the gaming audience has been willing Sucker Punch's latest to fall short. Arc Raiders review

Arc Raiders is notionally about humans battling to the death over scraps on a blasted Earth ruled by robots. But it's really about risking your virtual life for some apricots to satisfy the world's most demanding chicken. It was on one such poultry-induced shopping expedition when I encountered three men cresting a rise over a sand dune, bristling with weapons. Read more Read more

Xbox Series X|S at five years old - at this point is there anything else left to say?

The original intro for this article was about a coat I bought a couple of years back. You see, I treated myself to a Seasalt coat that cost about five times what I'd wanted to spend. It's wonderful in the winter - like wearing a yeti hug - and yet I rarely wear it. The problem with this glorious coat is that it's not something to throw on if it's... Read more
