Tiny Bookshop is making me want to run away to the seaside, and judging by its popularity, everybody else is coming too

If the recent unstoppable wave of cosy sims has taught me anything, it's that my life would be infinitely more tolerable if only I dropped everything to start a life of aggressive vegetable upkeep deep in bucolic isolation. Yet despite all this pro-turnip (and weirdly low-key horny) propaganda, the idea's never particularly appealed. Tiny Bookshop, though, might finally have convinced me that the time is right: so farewell all; I'm... Read more ›

Mafia: The Old Country review

I hate to start a review with a cliché, but reader, I'm doing it. Mafia: The Old Country is that occasional sort of experience that is 'more than the sum of its parts'. On paper, I don't think I should like this game as much as I do. When I stop and really think about it - y'know, squinting a little with concentration - I actually think I really do... Read more ›

Did Uniqlo know what it was doing with this Pokémon Magikarp t-shirt slogan?

I'm not sure about you, but whenever I'm scrolling a property owned by Meta (that's Facebook or Instagram, for the most part), I get advertised these 'splash blankets' that promise to be 100% waterproof and provide clean, dry sheets 'no matter what accidents might happen'. The adverts themselves are fairly innocuous; people knocking over glasses, pets coming home from their walk with wet paws, accidental dinner spillages when couples are... Read more ›

Eurogamer is changing to give you more of what you want

Death Stranding 2 is the World's Fair we deserve

In the year 2025, it's admittedly hard to care about a World Expo, though I am perhaps an outlier drawn to the spectacle of national branding under the banner of bringing humanity together (all the "civilised" parts of it, anyway). Read more Read more ›

If the wait for Hollow Knight Silksong is killing you, Xbox Game Pass just dropped another all-timer Metroidvania you should probably try

Early 2017 was a pretty good period for Metroidvania games. In February we saw Hollow Knight land on PC, and just one month later, a scrappier, weirder game called Rain World hit PC and the PS4. Hollow Knight, of course, now has the spotlight - it's one of the most successful and beloved indie games of the past decade - but Rain World also made a splash (pun not intended),... Read more ›

A demo for Hooded Horse and Amplitude's Endless Legend 2 is out now.
