UK risks leaving its EV drivers out of juice, unless it installs chargers 5 times faster

The UK is passing milestones and installing new EV chargers every week. But according to a UK think tank, it’s not doing so anywhere near fast enough. Happy 20th birthday to my beloved VLC — the finest software known to mankind

I still remember when I first met you, VLC. It was the early 2000s. The family computer had a hard drive measured in megabytes, and it was impossible to find a good bit of software to play video files I
acquired. But, in my darkest moment, you appeared and helped me watch a grainy rip of a South Park episode. And you know what? You’ve never let me down since.... Read more â€ș

Wearing a mask? You can soon use Face ID and Apple Watch to unlock your iPhone

Artificial intelligence and the Gamestonk blowback

3 important mobility tech trends from CES2021

CES went digital for obvious reasons this year. I missed the serendipity associated with strolling up and down alleys of startups and wandering around corporate booths. It was much more difficult to feed my curiosity and discover unexpected products, services, materials, partnerships, or old friends, all online. However, I did not miss having achy feet at the end of the day! All in all, I missed the live version. After... Read more â€ș

The 29 words that’ll make you want to buy an EV — or so says UK gov

The UK government is really keen on getting drivers into electric vehicles. Like, really keen. It’s so keen in fact, that it’s not only banned the sale of new combustion engine vehicles, but is carrying out “behavioral science messaging trials” to find the best words and phrases to encourage drivers to make the switch. Before we get to the winning phrase, here’s a breakdown of what the UK government did.... Read more â€ș

Animal Crossing: New Horizons sold 31.8 MILLION copies — here’s some silly math on it

I know Nintendo is an international company whose main goal is making money, but despite this I can’t help feeling it’s a cute little upstart that’s mine and mine alone. Sometimes though, it’s hard to avoid the reality. Like today. Because today is the day of Nintendo’s financials. Yes, the company is doing rather well. The financials are filled with a raft of interesting facts and figures. For example, the... Read more â€ș
