My team had a ‘no meeting week’ to ease Zoom fatigue — here’s how it went

After one year of working from home, I knew my team needed a change. Judging by conversations I had with colleagues, family, and friends, it was becoming very clear that the new-to-remote workforce was on the fast track to hitting a collective wall. Generally, we try to keep our ears close to the ground when it comes to listening to employee feedback at Storyblocks so we can spot any mounting... Read more

The Pixel 6 (and Pixel 6 ‘Pro’) may get a radical new design @here

That may change this year. According to leaker and YouTuber Jon Prosser, the Pixel 6 is sporting a radically new design that appears to place a heavy emphasis... Read more

How AI could steal your data by ‘lip-reading’ your keystrokes

Facial recognition isn’t the only scary thing bad actors and governments can use computer recognition for. What if an AI could watch a video of us tapping on our touchscreen phones and infer exactly what app we’re using and what we’re typing? Modern computer vision techniques have the ability to imbue us with the kind of technological super powers typically only seen in the movies. We can load video into... Read more

This 3-in-1 weed burner can scorch away unsightly weeds with a button press

Weeds always find a way. It usually requires a little more intensive work, including actually crouching down, yanking,... Read more

How microbes could beat humans in the race to connect with alien species

Are we alone in the universe? The famous SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) program has been trying to answer this question since 1959. American astronomer Carl Sagan, and many others, believed that other human-like civilizations must exist, and that we could communicate with them. But skeptics are not convinced, arguing the lack of evidence for such civilizations suggests they are exceedingly rare. But if other human-like civilizations are unlikely to... Read more
